Reflexology utilizes different movements such as massaging, squeezing and pushing different parts of the feet. Reflexology has evolved in our knowledge of it with it. Although the concept of reflexology is not new its availability in massage chairs has occurred in just the last few years.

The concept of reflexology is to stimulate particular trigger points which are related to other major parts of the body. Not only do you get a great foot massage but it is believed that these trigger points also induce relaxation in its corresponding related organ.

Reflexology involves two main components. One part is to massage thoroughly the feet. The other is to stimulate these trigger points located on the soles of the feet. Reflexology is known to have no negative side effects.

Now thanks to technology, foot reflexology has been successfully replicated in many massage chairs. A number of different systems are used in order to reproduce this particular method. This can provide the receiver with many benefits including full body relaxation.

Massage chairs come with leg rests that contain foot wells. The foot wells are specially designed to deliver an effective reflexology foot massage. Located under need the feet are either reflexology plates or airbags with reflexology nodes. These are designed to gently stimulate the trigger points on the soles of the feet.

An air massage system is also used to provide soothing relief to the feet. Specially designed airbags are used to provide a compression massage. This provides squeezing, massaging and pulling of the feet to relieve tightness, soreness and stiffness.

In order to coordinate all the action going on in the foot wells, massage chairs utilize a computer board. Customized programs have been developed to deliver the reflexology foot massage. This enables the massage chair to activate and deactivate the different systems to provide a relieving reflexology foot massage.

The airbags will compress against the feet providing a gentle squeezing action. This type of compression massage helps to relieve tight and aching feet. As the airbags squeeze the feet, the reflexology plate then stimulates the soles of the feet.

Some massage chairs use airbags with specially designed reflexology nodes. These airbags are activated which gently push up into the bottom of the feet. As they push up into the feet, the trigger points are stimulated which is believed to induce relaxation to corresponding organs.

Practitioners have reflexology have developed different maps of the feet. These maps show the location of different trigger points and their corresponding organs. As these areas are stimulated it helps to relax its related organ.

There are really two parts to receiving a reflexology foot massage in massage chairs. One is to write a thorough and relieving foot massage. Great article. Just wanted to say that reflexology can have a few small side effects like tiredness or slight drowziness, but nothing substantial really.
