Natural Alternatives To Prescription Drugs

There are many reasons why you should use natural alternatives with your child instead of using prescription drugs. One reason is because drugs can cause negative side effects to your child. The drugs might cure one ailment, but cause another.

Essential oils have also been researched over and over again, and still come out with a great track record. They are very safe for the body when used correctly, and have much gentler results. The fact that there are little, to no, negative side effects caused by natural ingredients should be a good enough reason to consider using them. Here are a few natural alternatives to some popular drugs your pediatrician might prescribe.

Amoxicillin is the most popular drug prescribed to children. It can help with infections such as fever, earaches, and colds. An alternative to Amoxicillin is lemon, peppermint, or frankincense.

When your child runs in to allergies they may be prescribed Singulair. While it does help with sneezing and allergy symptoms, it also has possible side effects, which include headaches, dizziness, and nausea. A safer alternative is to use lavender, which can be taken internally to fight off allergy symptoms.

Albuterol Nebulizing Solution: This solution is often prescribed for children who are having trouble with asthma. Frankincense is a safe alternative. Frankincense can help treat asthma symptoms, with out the severe reactions that Albuterol Nebulizing Solution can. Some side effects can include sever nausea, dizziness, tremors and swelling.

Prednisolone Sodium Phosphate: This treats a variety of symptoms. It is often prescribed to treat poison ivy. Save yourself the trouble of getting the prescription, and instead use lavender or frankincense.

When you have alternatives it is essential that you use them the right way. Just like your prescription, you have to follow the right dosage amount and instructions. Some essential oils are safe to use with children, while others are not. Be sure to always speak with a professional before you ever start a treatment on your own.

You can also apply natural essential oils in a variety of ways. Some can be directly applied to the skin; others need to be used in a diffuser. Before you begin treatment ask your doctor or aromatherapist for specific directions.

These are great alternatives. To over the counter meds. I have used lavender and frankincense before and they worked better than I had hoped. It is amazing how many herbal alternatives there are out there.
