It is interesting that you suggest to see if Chiropractic is right for you to check in with your general practitioner first. Overall this is a very good articule, but as a chiropractor that works in an office with Medical doctors, most GP's don't know anything about chiropractic or what Chiropractors do. Most GP's would have you take pain meds or refer you to an orthopedic surgeon. Many musculoskeletal problems with neck and back pain can be helped by Chiropractic. To find a Chiropractor ask your family and friends for the name of a good Chiropractor.

The treatment of neck pain depends on its precise cause. Treatment options include rest, heat/ice applications, traction, soft collar, traction, physical therapy (ultrasound, massage, manipulation), local injections of cortisone or anesthetics, topical anesthetic creams, topical pain patches, muscle relaxants, analgesics, and surgical procedures.
