Is Krill Oil Much Better than Fish-oil?

With all the attention dedicated to DHA supplements, these days, you should imagine that there's nothing new going on. But that is just not true. Needless to say, you've heard of fish-oil. It's a great method to obtain omega-3 fatty acids, especially DHA and EPA. Were you aware, however, that krill are also a supply of omega-3 fatty acids in oil?

Krill are small shrimp-like creatures that reside in the ocean. They're an important food source for many kinds of fishes, mammals, and birds, including whales, seals, and penguins. Because krill feed on the same food sources that fish do, their bodies collect oil that's high in omega-3 fatty acids, just as tuna together with other cold water fishes do.

Krill oil contains omega-3 fatty acids, like the specific acids of DHA and EPA as fish-oil does. The concentration is sort of less in krill oil than in fish-oil. Krill oil hasn't specifically been researched as much as fish-oil, but it seems to be actually better. It seems that your body actually absorbs krill oil faster than fish oil.

Just as omega-3 fatty acids generally, and fish oils in particular, it also appears as if krill oil can help patients with a number of diseases and medical disorders. Rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, are generally helped with krill oil. It also generally seems to lower triglycerides and blood cholesterol levels maybe even superior to fish-oil. Just as fish oil generally seems to help diabetics, krill oil can lower blood glucose levels. So, there's a host of ailments and diseases that krill oil generally seems to help. Pregnant women and women who are nursing also are taking krill oil because studies have shown that DHA supplements can help enhance the development of children's brains.

There isn't any recommended dosages for krill oil, because it's really too new. Most people stay with the same recommended dosages for fish oils of 1 to 3 grams per day. You can buy krill oil from a many types of places both on and off-line. It is made in capsules just like fish-oil. You'll want to keep it far from sunlight and humidity, just as you should with your fish-oil capsules. As in everything, you should talk to your doctor before you take krill oil, or any supplement. As more and more scientists study krill oil, even more of it's healing properties will be made know. Until then, DHA supplements of any form are certainly something you need to contemplate for better health.

Several studies had been conducted and it shows that krill oil is way better than fish oil, fish oil is famously known to contain Omega 3 fatty acids but krill oil is 40 times richer with omega 3 fatty acid than fish oil. Some complains about fish oil is its after taste as well as the fish burp it gives upon taking it, some experts says that fish oil might also contain some mercury which can be harmful for the body.
