Download Excel Analysis Toolpak Add-In – 2003, 2007

EmekaOct 08, 2010 | edited Oct 08, 2013 - by @Emeka

We were recently given home work in Business Statistics. The home work is about Histogram and stem-and-leaf data analysis. I thought that it would be most convenient to have it done using excel.

So I jumped on my microsoft office 2003 excel, then tried to install the analysis toolpak but I got an error dialog saying that the necessary file which is pro11.msi is missing.

I immediately invaded Google, searching and scouring to see if I can download it. I eventually did and installed it, but that didn't stop the error dialog from popping up again.

I went back to Google again to see if I can get suggestions on how to fix the error and probably get the missing file; whatever the heck it is. I later found out from forum suggestions that the following files are missing;

ANALYS32.XLL
FUNCRES.XLA
ATPVBAEN.XLA
PROCDB.XLA

To cut long story short, it took me almost 24hrs looking for these said files. I eventually found them, so I thought I should share them with those who are still probably immersed in the search engines looking for the Microsoft Excel Analysis Toolpak add-in before they get drowned, because honestly it was at the point of giving up the search that I found them in a zipped folder link on obscured location on techyguy's forum.

Download Excel Analysis Toolpak Add-In:

Click here: Excel Analysis Toolpak Add-In

Installation:

Unzip the folder and copy the file contents into this directory; C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\Library\Analysis

If you don't have Analysis folder in the Office11 Library, create one. Just know that the folder should look like the one above.

After doing that, open excel, click on tools, then click on add-ins, you will see analysis toolpak, tick the box and install. It should work.

If you have problems or suggestions you can add them in the comment section below.

I have MS Office 2003 installed in my pc, I checked and it is SP3.
I needed the Analysis ToolPak for a worksheet that is part of our school tasks to complete.

The first time I tried clicking on Tools > Add-ins, chose Analysis ToolPak and clicked OK
this was the result:

Microsoft Excel can't run this add in.
This feature is not currently installed. Would you like to install it now?

Since I lost my installation disk, I downloaded the zip file in the link above,
extracted and copied the contents on the newly created ?Analysis? folder.

I followed the instructions above for OFFICE11 but I still cant make it work as it is still trying to install but always resulting to not successful. Please help.

It shows this again:

Microsoft Excel can't run this add in.
This feature is not currently installed. Would you like to install it now?

I clicked Yes and it started to install but a new window resulted which says

Microsoft Excel can't run this add in.
The feature is not available.

Clicking OK, this shows again

Microsoft Excel can't run this add in.
This feature is not currently installed. Would you like to install it now?

Clicking Yes, this shows yet again

Microsoft Excel can't run this add in.
The feature is not available.

Then I click OK and this shows

Microsoft Office Excel cannot access the file ?C:\?\ANALYS32.XLL'
There are several possible reasons:
? The file name or path does not exist
? The file is being used by another program
? The workbook you are trying to save has the same name as a currently open workbook.

As I also have the folder ?Office12?, I also tried doing the latest instructions above but still none.
There is a folder ?Office14? and I also tried said instructions, still no go.

Please help.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, first of all thanks for the files! I am using Excel 2007 in Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit version. I, like someone had previously mentioned before, do not have Office 11 in the folder. So I created the analysis folder in office 12 (which contained the Library folder) and placed the 4 downloaded files inside. I managed to install it properly, thanks to you. I hope you can edit the post by reminding the users that if they have office12 folder instead of office11 they can install it by creating the analysis folder there. Thanks again!

Wow, thanks sooooooo much for this download. I needed to use this toolpak for a class and for whatever reason didn't have it on my home computer. Microsoft was completely useless as always but google helped find the answer. Thanks again for keeping me from failing! =)

Hello,

I did exactly what you wrote but the data analysis tab doesn't show. My excel is excel 2003 and by opening Tools/Add Ins and clicking on Analysis ToolPak and Analysis Toolpak ? VBA nothing actually happens. The files you mentioned are all there (in C:Documents and Settings/owner/Application Data/Microsoft/AddIns. Could you help to solve this prblem?

Thanks for the files! Unfortunately, it didn't work and I got the error message

Microsoft Office Excel cannot access the file ?C:\?\ANALYS32.XLL?
There are several possible reasons:
? The file name or path does not exist
? The file is being used by another program
? The workbook you are trying to save has the same name as a currently open workbook.

Tried all the suggestions mentioned in the previous posts, without success?
HOWEVER, if I open the ANALYS32.XLL file, I can use the functions of the add-in, very strange but at least I can use it?

It doesn't work for me? I followed the steps and all I get is a suggestion to install the add-in, and when I click ?no? it tells me that it cannot access the location that you've given (and I created an Analysis folder as you've mentioned)?
What should I do?

Thank you!

Thank you so so so much for this! My Add-in worked originally, but I was unable to change it to English.
Everything works great so far, except that now every time I open Excel it tells me ?FUNCRES.XLA is already open. Reopening will cause any changes you made to be discarded. Do you want to reopen FUNCRES.XLA?? Is it possible to get rid of this?

I tick the box next to the addin and click OK but it tells me that it is not currently installed and gives me the option to install it but, when I click yes, it says, ?Setup cannot find excel.en-us\ExcelLR.cab.? and tells me to browse to a valid installation source. The analysis folder was coming up empty so I downloaded your files (thank you!) and unzipped and added them but it is still telling me that this is an invalid installation source. There was an Office12, rather than an OFFICE11, which had a library/analysis folder that I put the file in so I tried creating OFFICE11/library/analysis folders and moving it there and still no luck. This is the 2007 version of Excel.

Dear Sir

For the Analysis Add-in, I have already followed your procedure and it works.

But right now, my problem is that I need to install the another ?Solver Add-in?. You can find that ?Solver Add-in? from Excel 2003 from Tools -> Add-in. When I tick to select it, I meet the same error dialog saying that the necessary file which is pro11.msi is missing.

Really need your help! Could you check for me how to fix it?

Really really thanks for great help first.

Cheers

Hi Sir

When I install the solver toolpak add-in and I also get the same error dialog saying that the pro11.msi is missing.

Since I do not have the MS Professional Office Installation CDs on hand, I need to have solver to work for my project assignment urgently.

Could you zip the necessary files of the solver add-in for me and teach me how to install the missing files too?

Thanks very much.

Cheers
Stephen
